ShipNet and the Web

As you'll no doubt have noticed, we've given the ShipNet website a bit of a facelift. This is a reflection of how we're continuing to evolve, bringing emerging technologies to bear to solve the problems faced by the shipping industry.

The web offers us some really exciting possibilities. We're already making use of it - in providing web based portals allowing ShipNet users to interact with suppliers and others in our Procurement and Disbursement Management systems, and in integrating dynamic distance calculations from Netpas in our new Voyage Estimator. Over the coming months our solutions will continue to make more and more use of the web. We're looking forward to learning a lot as we go through this process, and we're also looking forward to keeping you up to date with what we're doing, and listening to your thoughts on the directions we're taking.

We'll be periodically posting some thoughts on how things are going on this blog, with various figures across the organisation giving their perspective. We welcome your comments here, on the forum, and please feel free to follow us on twitter. These are exciting times for us in ShipNet, and having the mechanism to share what this involves with you just makes things better.
